Our economy is leaving millions behind. Basic Income March is a people powered movement to send the message that our society and economy needs to evolve to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
The Basic Income March will begin in South Bronx at Hostos College and finish in Harlem, at the Convent Baptist Church. We will march with and hear from leaders including Presidential Candidate Andrew Yang, Congressional Candidate James Felton Keith, and Hawk Newsome, Chairman of Black Lives Matter.

Berlin Event PageFor our 2025 Week of Action, we want to lean into community education to sound the alarm at the community level, and begin these important conversations with everyday people so we can demand our government will prepare and push back on the wealthy tech corporations that are hoping we just stand by.
We're here to support your events with resources, guides, and direct support!
You need an account with Action Network to set up an event. Set up an account here. Then, go to the Basic Income Day of Action Event and Map and click on the large "Click to Host" button near the map. Fill out all the important steps and your event will drop on the map as a pin!
Determine the event that makes the most sense for you and your community. A day of canvassing to local businesses with a group of friends, a protest on your state capital steps, hosting a citizen’s assembly at your local event space or library, marching in the streets, or hosting a film screening. The goal is to engage with your community and start to alert our community about the very real ways AI is disrupting our livelihoods and to bring people to understand the deep need income not tied to employment will be.
Decide on your venue and find partners in the community to support your event.
Send out invites! Use social media, email invitations, or event platforms to invite your community. Income Movement has graphics templates if you need support! Send out reminders to guests a week before and a day before the event, along with new details. Build excitement!
Attend organizer meetings if possible to connect to community support and resources such as discussion guides and activities for your event.
We'll support organizers with talking points, and handouts for these community conversations. We encourage organizers to think about strategies to set the tone for open, honest dialogue that is respectful.
Have fun! Enjoy the opportunity to connect to your community. Ask people to add their name to the sign-on letter to congress. And ask folks to help recruit more people in their communities.
Don’t forget to take photos so your event can be included in the post-event communications across the basic income community. Post photos to social media with the hashtag: #basicincomeweek2025 so people see the power of the collective Week of Action.
Send a thank you email to your attendees with a few ways to stay plugged into the movement. We can help with that! The "I Support Basic Income" sign-on letter is a great starting place.
Let us know how it went! What were the highlights and take-aways, how many folks showed up. Send us your photos! Attend the post-event organizer debrief meeting so we know what worked and how we can continue to support you in future events.
